Features and benefits of Garmin STRIKER 010-01554-01
Garmin Striker 7sv is a new model that implements the most "advanced" features inherent in modern fish-searching devices.
- Color 7-inch screen with high resolution (800 x 480 pixels).
- Button control.
- Traditional mode of echolocation HD-ID at low frequencies 50/77/200 KHz.
- Support for the technology of broadband frequency scanning CHIRP. The sounder emits (and receives) the scanning pulses not at discrete frequencies, but in a certain frequency range. Due to this, higher detail is provided for the echogram of underwater objects and visual separation of one object from another for closely located targets. Also, compared with traditional echo sounders, the maximum depth of echolocation increases. Garmin Striker 7sv has several modes of underwater scanning using technology CHIRP.
- Low-frequency scanning mode CHIRP Down Vu. The scanning beam has the shape of a strongly flattened cone (only a few degrees in the direction of the vessel's motion and up to 60 ° in the transverse direction). The resulting echogram has a photorealistic view with a detailed display of schools of fish, underwater objects, benthic vegetation, the bottom relief.
- The mode of lateral high-frequency scanning CHIRP Side Vu with photorealistic display of underwater objects, bottom vegetation and the bottom relief on the right and left side at a distance of 160 m from your ship.
- The sounder can be used for winter fishing with an additional special sensor in the hole.
- Built-in high-sensitivity GPS receiver. The sounder has in its arsenal the simplest navigational functions: the mark of a waypoint, the recording of the trajectory of motion. On the screen you can see your current location relative to waypoints, the path of your movement, the current speed and the digital value of the course.
- Viewing the history of the echogram with the possibility of marking the waypoint "backdating".
- Display of water temperature. Record the graph of temperature changes.
- Warranty - 2 years.
Navigation functions
- Common to all Garmin STRIKER 7sv is the presence of an integrated GPS receiver and, as a consequence, a set of simple navigation functions that greatly facilitates the process of orientation on the water:
- Displaying your current location on the screen
- Recording a motion path and displaying it on the corresponding navigation screen
- Mark waypoints with the possibility of subsequent route to them.
- Display the speed and direction of the current course of motion.
Echolocation
The Garmin Striker fishfinders differ in the supported echolocation modes or their combinations. However, common to all models is the use of the technology of broadband frequency scanning CHIRP (Compressed High-Intensity Radiated Pulse) in these modes. This technology is the main trend in modern echo sounders of many manufacturers, but until recently it was mainly used only in "top" models. In traditional echosounders, the scanning pulse is produced at fixed discrete frequencies (typically 50.77, 83 or 200 KHz). The shape of the scanning beam has a conical shape with an angle of coverage from 15 ° to 60 ° depending on the frequency. The essence of CHIRP is that the radiated and reflected pulse is replaced by a broadband pulse in a certain frequency range. Due to this, more pulse power is achieved (the depth of scanning is increased) and the problem of separating closely located underwater objects is solved. As a result, on the echogram you see a picture with improved detail of underwater objects (fish, schools of fish, bottom vegetation, features of the bottom relief). The next feature of the Garmin STRIKER 7sv is the combination of the technology of CHIRP scanning with the technologies of the bottom and side high-frequency scanning DownVu and SideVu. In addition to the high frequencies of the emitted pulse (425-800 KHz), these modes are characterized by a special form of the scanning beam: conditionally, it resembles a strongly flattened cone. The viewing angle in the longitudinal direction (in the direction of the boat) is only a few degrees (1-2 °), and in the transverse direction, on the contrary, it reaches 50-60 °. In DownVu mode, the scanning beam is directed downward, and in SideVu- mode, two beams are directed to the right and left sides of the vessel. The resulting echogram is the projection of the reflected signals on 2 planes: vertical (Down Vu), and horizontal (SideVu). Thus, when the boat moves, the underwater space with an angle of coverage of almost 180 ° is "cut" by the scanning rays with very thin layers. Due to this, the highest detail of the echogram is achieved. The picture on the screen of the device has a photorealistic view with the display of underwater objects, drops of the bottom relief, vegetation. What is important, apart from determining the depth of the object, the SideVu mode allows you to determine the location of the target (right-left) and estimate the distance to the target. The only negative - the fish, falling into a narrow scanning ray, on the screen displays a small spot of several pixels. Therefore, on the echogram, the schools of fish are clearly visible, and a separate small fish can not be noticed. In modern echo sounders (the Garmin STRIKER 7sv is not an exception), as a rule, combined echolocation modes are used. Echograms from different scan modes are displayed in this case on the sonar screen simultaneously.
