Garmin Quatix™ - Description
Garmin Quatix is designed for the passionate sailor of all types of vessels, from paddlers to kayakers, to sailors and power boaters, the Quatix offers unparalleled performance and attendance in a sturdy wristwatch.
Whether you find yourself in a boat race or leisurely sailing in your boat on the bay, the Quatix has it all. It is the only existing GPS watch that offers this wide range of functions including detection MOB if any of the crew fall into the sea, remote control of Garmin autopilot and information on wind data, depth and others.
Specialized Sailing Features Quatix contains advanced tools and information for yachtsmen providing them with competitive advantages during competition or during training. Garmin Quatix can easily create a virtual line between two reference points, such as the edges of the starting line of a competition and then indicates the distance to that virtual line and the countdown time "to burn" as to enable the boat to cross exactly at the starting signal .
And once the race started, the Quatix watch switches to the Tack assistance function indicating the optimal angle for tacking the windward or leeward beacons and the ideal cornering direction.
NMEA 2000 Data in Your Wrist If you link your Quatix to a Garmin GNT 10 NMEA transceiver (optional) it will display and transmit NMEA 2000 data such as wind speed, direction, depth and more.
Remotely Control Your Autopilot Garmin Quatix also allows you to control your Garmin autopilot remotely so you can displace yourself in your boat and be kept constantly informed.
Automatic activation of alarm MOB "Man Overboard" If any of the Quatix users crew falls overboard, the optional transceiver will activate the MOB ("Man Overboard") alarm in the chartplotter.
Review or Plan your Journey at Home Using the Homeport™ software (sold separately) you can plot or revise your trip in a Windows or Mac computer and stream it to your watch. Or if you prefer, you can also connect wirelessly to your iPhone or iPad using the Blue Chart Mobile program. (sold separately)
